The unifying conceptual focus of my work is a closer examination of the everyday. Weaving narratives or creating worlds from detailed observations of a person, a seemingly inconsequential event or an object; often attempting to expose unnoticed, ordinary items and people through the exploration of the subject's materiality.
into being series
Large-scale, immersive photographic abstractions. The work aims to expose found worlds observed in my daily life. The series of digital prints centers around distortion, the obscuring of material, plays of scale and the way light shifts and refracts through liquids.
Moments of focal clarity ground the images in reality, while disguising the subject matter breaks down the work into the realm of ambiguity. By pulling away from concrete imagery, I attempt to liberate the viewer to explore at the will of their imagination.
